This medication is used to improve the appearance of the skin by reducing fine lines and wrinkles reducing roughness and improving skin color. It should be used with a skin care and sunlight-avoidance program that includes moisturizer and daily use of an effective sunscreen (minimum SPF 15).Tretinoin belongs to a class of medications called retinoids. It works by affecting the growth of skin cells. Apply a pea-sized amount of cream using just enough to cover your entire face lightly usually once a day before bedtime or as directed by your doctor. Be careful to avoid your eyes nostrils and mouth. Do not wash your face or apply another skin care product for at least 1 hour after using this product.Do not use more of this medication than prescribed or use in larger amounts. It will not give you faster or better results but will increase the risk of developing redness peeling and pain. Do not use on cut scraped sunburned or eczema-affected skin.Avoid getting this medication in your eyes. If this medication gets into your eyes flush with large amounts of water. Call your doctor if eye irritation develops. World Drug News. Government funding crisis in Swaziland disrupts supply of HIV/AIDS supplies. "An acute government funding crisis in Swaziland, Africa's last absolute monarchy, is disrupting supplies of HIV/AIDS drugs and hampering the fight against the virus in the country with the world's highest infection rate, Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) said Friday," Reuters reports. "Stocks of testing kits and related chemicals were 'almost dry,' making it next-to-impossible to chart the progress of the 70,000 patients on therapy or more than 130,000 other people carrying the virus, the aid agency said," according to Reuters.
"With 26 percent of its adult population, or more than 200,000 people infected, Swaziland ranks as the most AIDS-affected country," Reuters writes (Cropley, (9/9). In related news, a new report from Swaziland's government "has found that more than half of [30,000 Swazis, mostly women, working] in Swaziland's garment industry are living with HIV, and officials are realizing that the once-hailed promise of manufacturing employment has become a financial and medical nightmare for tens of thousands of Swazi women," PlusNews reports (8/11).
